Working with a 3rd Year Student :Verity Smith

As Part of my PPD1, I was a design assistant to a third year student. I was contracted to work with the designer every Thursday from 30th April - 28th May. Overall it was fantastic experience working with the designer as I got a chance to see what It would be like If I was to work as an assistant to a designer and also what it's like to be a 3rd yr student.

Day 1
(30th April) :
Met the designer on the first day.

Tasks for the day:

• Go to town to buy specific ribbons and fabric for the designers final collection.
• Pinning ribbons on the designers garment read for her to sew.

Day 2

(7th May) :

• Tracing patterns.
• Go to town to buy more ribbons and buttons for the collection.

Day 3

(14 May)

• Tracing Patterns

Day 4

(21 May)

• Sent to town to get Wooden Hangers, Batteries and Gold safety
• Hand sew buttons onto designers garments
• Trace patterns

Day 5

(28 May)

• Tracing patterns
• Helping out with exhibition

Designers Final Collection and Final Line-up:
