Interdisciplinary Processes

Brief:
To produce a garment contemporary fashion using the word ‘Metamorphosis’ and creating design sheets showing colour, research and fabric samples. Over the Easter Holiday we had to produce 15-idea sheet using the word ‘metamorphosis’ as a starting point to the project, which will then be used as part of research for the project. The project brief was also to explore and fuse together methods and techniques I used throughout the year.

Images of my fabric samples on the mannequin. To see what they would look like if they were garments.

Moulage workshop, which was very useful for my work and final outcome for my garment. It was a technique that I never used before and I will also use it in my future work.

Research images, showing inspired pieces from Racheal Cassar's work. Her ranges are made from 95% recycled materials. Purchased fabrics are second hand, off cuts, table cloths with a special preference for antique lace, silk, cotton, tulle, leather and chiffon. Crystals and old chandelier pieces adorn the garments. I tried to incoporate this into my own work aswell, as i was looking at flowers and petals, some of her work reminded of this aswell.

Back view, front view and side view of final images for my garment. I really like the final outcome of my garment and I turned out exactly how I wanted it to turn out.

Overall, I am very pleased with how I approached the brief and my final outcome aswell.
